pickup post #2 ...p bass

    so i have a couple SX P basses with Seymour 1/4 LB sbp 3's in em ......the only replacement pups the local store had in stock at the time of hotrodding these basses!

    is it just me, or is the 1/4LB #3 completely out of control, lacking nuance and highs .....just freakin' loud but maybe not so toneful?

    I had one and sold it. "lacking nuance" was the deal breaker for me. A good pickup for some styles, but not mine.
    Oddly, I have the single coil version in a '54 P Bass copy and love it. Punchy, but retains the vintage tone.
