I just got a Schecter Studio 4FL and am thinking of upgrading the pickups. Anyone have any thoughs on best pickups for a jazz style fretless? TIA!

    This is your bass?

It's not a "Jazz style" as it does not have Jazz pickups in it.
Looks to have EMG-40 sized pickups.
What time are you looking for? SD or Bartolini have good choices in that size...

  3. Correcto! "Jazz Style" for bass players does not mean "to play Jazz", it refers to a Fender Jazz Bass type of instrument. You may as well play Heavy Metal with it.
Now I concur on Bartolinis which I dislike on a fretted bass but love on a fretless. They usually have a warm woody sound perfect for fretless. They should have a model fitting your bass.

Mostly, 'jazz style' refers to pickup placemnt pattern, unless you're strictly in the Fender camp- then it's the body shape.
Big bass world now, not just 'P' and 'J' (by F...)
