  1. I am in desperate need for new pickups. What typre should I get if i play fast punk music?

    I ain't familiar with the Premier brand of bass.
    What kind of pups does it have?...P? J? M/M? Soapbar?

    "they" ? :eek: You got more than one o' these on that Premier?...


    Anyhoo, the Seymour Duncan SMB-4D (in the pic)
    can be had at Warmoth for ~$82. It's got ceramic
    magnets and can be used sans preamp (passive).
    The S/D custom shop also makes one with Alnico magnets.

    WD Music Products has a Kent Armstrong M/M type
    for ~$60. It has full-length ceramic bar polepieces -
    more even response. Kinda' like a DiMarzio Split-P
    I guess. It can also be used without a preamp.

    Bartolini also makes several replacement M/M types.
    You can get their MMC model at Mars for ~$90.
    I dunno if you can use `em without a preamp.

    Sorry, I don't play punk. Mebbe some of the other TB'rs
    that do could pipe up...those that got Stingrays, etc.
