Ok Modulus lovers, check this out -

Semi-hollow fretted 6 string - Chechen board and CARVED top (check that woodwork out!!)

Man, does this bass sound sweet!! At the moment it's got Bartolini P-ups and an Aguilar circuit, but I'll switch the circuit for a U-Retro as soon as I can - the Aggy's nice, but doesn't have the sweepable mid or the pull bright switch that I really like on the retro.

BTW, I've strung it with Bass Centre Elites Flats, and it plays like a dream...

I think that has to be the nicest Modulus I have yet to see. It actually looks like a classy instrument...not that other's aren't "classy" but for Modulus this looks like an entirely different realm almost. Very cool.
  5. holy crap, that things a beaut, i bet it ran you a pretty penny

I've got a fretted Q4 and a semi-hollow fretless Q6. Modulus now offer the hollow option on any bass. The Oteil sig. bass I think was like most sig basses all about his particular options - same pre, same pickups. His has different woods, a phenolic board, different electronics, and no carved top. As far as I'm lead to believe, this is the first carved top bass they've ever made...

Oteil seems to use different basses depending on the gig - he uses an old Jazz for some of the Allman's stuff, and has been using his Fodera a lot recently, it seems. But the Moduli still seem to feature in his arsenal...

This is THE nicest fretted bass I've ever played, no lie. It's unbelieveable. I'll have it with me at NAMM, if any of you are there... :D

  16. That bass should definitely be the "Steve Lawson Signature". That carved top is fantastic!

Now, where to find some clips of you playing it??
