Long story short, I bought an American Jazz bass off the 'bay, it took about 2 weeks to get here, and it was in terrible condition while the listing advertised it as good condition. So I sent it back, got a refund, and bought this one.

This thing is a Signature Jazz Bass body with I believe an allparts black blocked neck and a Fender decal.

I really liked the look of this bass, I think it looks pretty original. Sounds good too, I just have to work on the playability to get it exactly the way I like it.

(Don't mind the awful rug, these are the pictures from the seller)

    What do you think?

Edit: I added a quick, basic sound clip to give a taste of how it sounds

    Awful rug? Sheesh.
Thanks alot....I just won the bid on it from the same seller.
It's one of the new Fender "road worn" 74' Rug reissues.
Notice that natural looking faded look, yet it's brand new and comes with a warranty!

Oh yeah, your bass looks nice on my new rug.

I had a feeling the rug would be a hit :smug:

    Any thoughts on the bass?

    I like it alot actually...
I dig the color, is it like a charcoal kinda color?

Have I mentioned how it brings out the colors of the rug?

Yeah, the color is a charcoal gray.

I agree, the rug compliments it nicely.

I wonder if a bass with the rug pattern would look nice on a charcoal gray rug?

  9. looks like you got a great deal.. a distinct fender that sounds and (eventually) plays good! rock on!

Rug is pretty nice! Unfortunately, the bass is not really my kinda thing; the body color, maple, blocks, and pickguard don't seem to tie together nicely. Congrats on your new bass though!

I actually think it all looks really good together. Definitely unique.

Thank you, that's what I thought. I think it all goes together pretty well, it doesn't seem like it would but I like the looks of it, its not like any bass I've seen before. I only paid around 500 for it as well so that's nice.

    Any thoughts on the sound?
