This is Dr. Thor, she's a giant African millipede. Most people think they are gross but they are really very cool and mellow. Dr. Thor is about 10 inches in length, they are pretty cool pets.

How long do they live? Do they interact like a cat or are they more spider-ish? What do you feed her?

I prefer fuzzy things. Some lizards are cool, and maybe some smaller snakes. But I prefer my little hamster, or my mouse, or my cats.

They live about 6 or 7 years, the first time i saw the thing i freaked out, i didn't know insects got that big. After i let it crawl around on me i became addicted. They are really cool to own, i don't know why people think they are bad.

  9. ... thats growse... :(

That's kinda cool, but I think I'll stick to geckos and monitors.

Here's Smaug, my Tokay. The pictures were taken right after I rescued him from this dumbass kid last summer, he's grown some since then. Picture a small creature with the disposition of a pit bull that's bred for fighting and that makes chattering noises at a volume that belies it's size, and you've got Smaug.

  13. Cool...definitely better than a centipede; I hate centipedes... :spit:

Don't giant millipedes eat tarantulas or something? That would be cool to see.

My schools lab had one. It wasn't that big and it was coverd in mites. Now its dead. I fed it green leafy stuff.

  15. Does it really have 1,000,000 legs? I say you count for us.

cool....they aren't insects, though, and they don't eat tarantulas...they eat dead stuff...partially dead plants or whatnot...
