Pictures of a Precision bodied bass without a pickguard or control plate?

This has to exist somewhere other than my head.

I like the precision body shape, but I'm not a fan of pickguards and control plates. Are there any basses that have a Precision shape without those things? I see jazzes like that all the time of course, but not precisions.

Anyone? In any color, woods, or pickup configuration...

If not, I guess I'll ask for the resident photoshop artist. :)

    Thanks,
    Marshall

You can get pics from Warmoth. They sell rear-routed P-Bass bodies.

  5. Fender Jazz Special(sometimes called 'Power Jazz). Jazz-sized neck, P-shaped body, no pickguard or control plate. Passive w/the Fender TBX tone knob & 3-way pickup selector switch. You see them on the bay for 3 or 4 bills. Duff McKagan(G&R)played one, & I think still does. My first brand-new 'good' bass.

Thanks guys. I forgot about Henry's, and I'll look up the others.

If anyone wants to show pics, please feel free!

  8. In a way, I'm glad I have a good Fender 5 already, though I'm not neccesarily glad I can't afford/justify another(Fender *style* 5, I mean).

The G&L L-2000 has a Precision feel to it with its wide neck and non-offset body.

Pretty basses! I was worried the precision shape would look funny without a guard, but I see it looks great...

  13. I like it! Do you know how long they made those? Looks passive.

    Check this out:

    http://charvel.com/models/standard/sandimas_bass.php

If you check Charvel's price list, you'll see it's available with a few pickup configurations, including P/P. It's also available with ebony fretboard. Sweet! And Charvel is owned by Fender, so in that corporate sense it's a real P-bass.

Silly me, I used to own a Jazz Special! Mine was a dud though.
