    I have mixed feelings on it; just like I have for much of the technological advances we've seen in electronics, recording, and music production.

    While these advances make it easier for artists to get their stuff produced and get it out to the public, it also greatly increases the volume of garbage that we all have to sort through. We all know that do to the admiration that pro musicians get from the general public, there are more people wanting to be an entertainer than there are people who are actually gifted in that area (any doubts? just watch American Idol). These advances make it easier for no talent hacks to clog up the world of music with yet another name to wade through.

    On the other hand, if a person really does have something the world would be better off hearing, it's nice to have a user-friendly way to handle that without having to deal with record company politics (yeah, I'm GREATLY over simplifying that).

    Yeah, I'm making a mountain out of a mole hill on this; but I'm sure you see the basic point I'm trying to share.

    The thing looks ugly as sin for a phone, but this is a very neat idea.

    Has anyone here had an international jam session?

    feels like a design school project...

    its a lot of effort to create a a phone-based technology for remote music collaboration (since there are so few folk who would actually pay for this)

    attach to a cymbal stand? imagine what that would sound like.

    monitoring over the built in speaker? it would be like having a cell phone conversation while playing drums.:rollno:

    Then again, I'll be the first to buy one anyway.
