I was listening to this song and in the middle section, where it sounds quite similar to the Dr. Who theme, is that the bass through some kind of effect? A phaser, Flanger? please specify. All input is appreciated.
with Pink Floyd, I would believe it is either the bass through a ton of effects or more likely that synthisizer that was as big as a couch that they used heavily....
+1. vibrato is produced by rapid variations in pitch. tremolo is produced by rapid variations in volume (can also be seen as a rapid repetition of a single note, esp. in "classical" music). http://[malware url removed].net/vicious-smiley-1815.gif
indeed! i suppose i should start using the term "art music" again. i used to use it all the time, but then people would just stare blankly or say, "what's 'art music?'" all the time... so i reverted back to using the technically incorrect "classical music." but yeah... that's why i put "classical" in quotes like i did.
+1 This is vibrato. Notice the pitch warbles. This is tremolo. Notice the volume warbles. Any questions? No? Class dismissed!
