Pino Palladino probably has a million basses by now, from the ones he actually likes to the ones that he plays on a regular bassis.

The ones I've seen him play:
-Fender 62' P bass in fiesta red
    -Fender 63' P bass in 3 tone
-Fender Custom Shop Signature (probably a couple)
-Fender Custom Shop with Thunderbird Electronics
    -Fender Jaguar MIJ
-Lakland US 44-60 (early JO) Red
    -Lakland US 44-64
    -Lakland US 55-94
    -Lakland US 55-76
    -Musicman 79' Stingray Fretless
    -Musicman Bongo HH Stealth
    -Harmony H-22
-2 Moon JJ4s in Black and white

I wana document as many of the ones he plays and owns OR has played and had owned.

If you've seen him with something or if you have a pictures, PUT THEM UP!

For his basses this is what I've gathered:

    1961 Fender Precision (Fiesta Red)
1963 Fender Precision (Sunburst, every time I've seen him use this, it's always been tuned down, DGCF for D'Angelo & NIN, E flat for the John Mayer Trio)

    '60s Fender Mustang
Fender Signature Precision (I wonder how many he has?)
Fender Precision (used before he bought the Stingray in 1981)
Fender Custom Shop Precision (Candy Apple Red with Tbird pickups)
Fender Custom Shop Mudbucker P (saw it onstage in a video with The Who from 2006, haven't actually seen him play it)

    Fender Jaguar (Black, hipshot xtender)
    Fender Jaguar (Black, matching headstock)
    Moon Larry Graham Jazz (White)
Moon Larry Graham Jazz (Black, stolen after a Who show at Leeds in 2006)
Wal 4-string (with Bass Technology MB4 MIDI system)
Lākland 44-60 "Joe Osborn" (Candy Apple Red, tuned C#F#BE)
Lākland 44-64 "Bob Glaub" (Teal Green)
Lākland 55-76 (Lake Placid Blue, matching headstock, unlined fretless)
    1996 Lākland 55-94 Deluxe 5-string (Sunburst)
    1967 fretless Ampeg AUB-1
1982 Squier Jazz Bass (often used with Roland V-Bass modeling system)
    Jeff Finch Custom Fretless 5-string
    Status-Graphite Vintage PP
    Status-Graphite S2 headless 6-string
    Höfner Club
    Warwick Thumb 5-string
    1991 Warwick 6-string
    Pedulla Buzz fretless
Ernie Ball MusicMan Bongo Stealth (used for 2004 Japanese Who tour)
    1979 MusicMan Fretless StingRay (Sunburst)

  10. Is the 79 Stingray you mention the fretless one he plays on and off? I love the sound of that bass.

Ah, was the blue 55-76 the one he used to back Peter Gabriel for his Hall of Fame induction?

Yes. The only other time I've seen him use it was in a jazz-ish type performance (can't remember with who) that was dated from the early 2000s. It's a cool looking bass. He should use it with PSP if they ever do anything again.

Looks like his Moon bass in this video Same one he used in the Questlove D'Angelo super jam.

  14. Nope! This one has the 'new' headstock. The one he uses with D'Angelo has a Fender shaped headstock. So he has at least 2 white Moon basses.
    Sorry, I'm a bit obsessive...

I really want MM to release a Pino Paladino Signature.
As long as it is available in other color then sunburst!

I'm pretty sure this must be what he was playing today with The Who at the New Orleans Jazz Fest. I certainly saw red bass, white 'guard and at least one other pickup besides the mudbucker.

What else was he playing? I saw a pic of him with The Who in Dubai from November where he was playing what looked like a '57 or '58 P bass. Sunburst & maple, gold pickguard and quite worn in. I'll try to find a pic.

Couldn't say, while I was watching he didn't get much screen time, except for the solos in 'my generation'.
