Pithecanthropus erectus note choices

Currently I am working on Pithecanthropus erectus, and happen to have a book for reference (More Than a Fake Book, ISBN 0-7935-0900-9). A couple of bars (5 & 6) have had some alternative chords pencilled in (some in my handwriting of long ago, some not). I've seen different notation for these bars in transcriptions from iReal Pro.

I was wondering if there's anyone here who plays this who might be willing to comment on what they'd choose to play here when walking. I don't recall every having found something with which I've been satisfied.
