Pizzicato Pieces, Book 1 (Hauta-Aho)

Discussion in 'Music [DB]' started by Gideon, Oct 22, 2001.

  1. I'm looking for the piece of music in the subject. It was reviewed in the latest Double Bassist. I'm curious if anyone has a line on somewhere I can get it. Lemur doesn't appear to have it and my local can't seem to get ahold of the piece either.
    Any ideas?

Also, has anyone checked out the Double Bass Book, Scales and Arpeggios, reviewed in the same issue of Double Bassist? I'm curious but can't check it out locally so I'm looking for some opinions.
    Thanks, Gideon

    Hey Gideon:

Jazz Sonatine the tribute piece to Chambers, Mingus and LaFaro was published in the Winter 2000 issue of Double Bassist #15. You can at least get some flavor for Hauta-Aho compositions.

Double Bassist is pretty good at listing contact info for recordings and books they review.

I'd get in toutch with the publisher dircectly.

  4. Thanks Tim, I forgot about that, I'll have to poke through my stack and see if I can dig it up.

I tried finding Recital Music on the web and no luck so far.
    Thanks,
    Gideon
