Has anyone ever made a copy of a PJ-555 also known as Duff Mckagans Pecision Bass?

Just for research, as I've spent the last couple months reading about building a bass. I also intend to purchase books about wood work, and making your own guitar.

    Thanks in advanced!

I'd suggest a few warmup projects if you are at the "buying books about..." stage. Books are great, and folks here share well, but there's no substitute for doing, and only rarely is the first thing done particularly good. So some inexpensive woods and low-stress projects are my recommendation for how to get to a point where your higher aims match up with what your fingers and arms and eyes can do.

Some folks go with a kit build, some folks go with scrap lumber from scratch. Either will teach you something. Quite a few folks tilt right at the fancy end result they envision, and unless they have applicable experience in other fields that transfers, that rarely goes well.

I think the PJ555 just refers to Fender's jazz bass special, no? Whereas the Duff is white pearl with gloss black neck? The odd person around here makes copies of popular instruments, but most of us build from scratch with our own designs. If there are any questions as to the process of building, we can help. :D

Guys! Who has a bass guitar in this color?
I need you to take it to auto paint and tell me the color code so that I can repaint my deck in that color.
    Who can help me?)

That's a Fender Jazz Bass Special in "Pewter", but a word of warning, that's not a great picture of the finish, and IMHO it's not quite as goldy-green in real life. :) It should also be noted that Fender apparently changed the colour/name of Pewter from what they used in the 80s/early 90s as these days "Pewter" is a much more silvery-grey colour. Google these colours for more examples to see what I mean.

Instrument Finish Color Chart  · Customer Self-Service (Pewter is #43 on this chart, but it's the "new" pewter. Very similar to Charcoal Frost Metallic.

Yes, I know that this color was gray from the factory, but over the years the varnish turned yellow and the bass becomes green-gold :))
the question is, do i need to buy some paint...
and the name "pewter" will not give the seller anything, I need a car code...

Yes and no - I remember these when these would show up in the store I worked at, and they were greeny gold brand new. We pretty much all hated it. :D They will become more yellowed over time, but that's also what they looked like at the time. :)

It's also way later than Fender's use of standard automotive colours which was more of a 60s thing. There are lots of various online locations where you can find the Fender colour and cross reference it to automotive paints, but some of the more "modern" colours like pewter are not in those cross references:
