I'm thinking of getting a Wilde P46/J45 set to go in a PJ bass. What would be a good bass for a project like this? A good rock players bass that can be a beater bass but also play great...and sound even better with a pickup change!

I have a Squier P bass special, fitted with an awesome CV jazz neck that is currently away getting these pick ups fitted. We play lots of rock.I did fit QPs but didn't like them. Will let you know what the P46/J45 set up sounds like.

  3. Just get an old P Bass that feels good in your hands, and have it routed for a J pickup. You'll have far more options of P basses then PJ basses the chose from.
