Looking to upgrade the pj pu's in my ibanez Mikro
I'm a loyal Bartolini user, love their "deep" pickups..
And also love Aguilar pre's, they get me closer to my goal tone, always.

I love sustain, warmth and thick tones..
Any other pu's I should consider?

And preamps too, any combinations u guys had luck with?
I'm willing to try something new, high end ..
Like nordy, glock, Delano, john east..
never tried any of these brands..
    Any feedback helps, thnx!
  2. Sustain is a factor which is more strongly influenced by your bass's physical properties (body wood, neck, nut, bridge, strings etc.) than pickups.

Yes, I suppose I realized that, and a good setup, right?

I like a very deep, yet clear, almost Hifi lower end..
like a good, modern gospel/r&b tone.,
and I'm stuck w the same Aguilar pre/ Bartolini/alder/rosewood combination for years,
Except for my Roscoe which is ash/cocobolo, (but same pu & pre)

I'm hoping to try something more updated, to take a risk, but it's impossible to demo all these in a reasonably efficient comparison.

I guess I'm looking for more feedback from players, as far as newer pu and preamps available today.Reading specs and looking at websites help only so much,
