PJ thunderbird? what the hell is it???

    I went to Melbourne in new year eve and I went to a party called
    The Strange Fruit/Split at Hi Fi Bar and saw an amazing looking bass. the shape is like thunderbird but it is a PJ Bass!!!!! what the hell is it???

  3. That pic is kinda dark, but it looks like a non-reverse Epi or Gibson Thunderbird.

    thanks for reply. yep.. i tried my best to tune it up.
    thunderbird have PJ setup? or it is just a copy?

    Hi! i have seen once a Epiphone Thunderbird reverse 5-string with P/J pickups :) and that sure looks lot like it in that pic! ... but i am not sure if thats the same.

    You can't find it because it's no longer made.

    The first Epiphone T-Birds used the "non reverse" body shape and came with P/J pickups in either 4 or 5 string versions. It was replaced by the current "reverse body" Thunderbird.

    They show up used pretty often for about $300.

    I scored one of these in sunburst with OHSC for $350 after taxes at a local pawn shop yesterday. It was strung upside down and re-strap buttoned for a lefty. I bet it has some stories.If you are the southpaw bassist for RAWR, your bass has found a good next home.
