I need a new strap because my $2 one is falling apart on me. I want to get a 3" one so I dont get P Bass shoulder anymore. I was checking out the Planet Waves padded bass strap. Its like $20 and it has a nice soft pad built into it. I saw it at guitar center and www.musiciansfriend.com

Anyone have it? Will it get really low because I wear my strap 57" long from strap button hole to strap button hole (just measured it).

If it doesnt go that low, I'll just get a regular Ernie Ball guitar strap.

seriously, i do not know, but IMO i would be leaded to believe that it wouldn't go that low because its made for jazzish, soft type players that need that comfort on their heavy jazz basses. but i might be wrong, it could go lower, and I also hear they are the most comfortable thing and distribute the weight of the guitar evenly, no P-bass shoulder.;)
Just if you play it on stage in a metal band or something where image is everything (not me, i do RHCP, Primus, etc. stuff where the image is to be different), you might get flamed for wearing such a big strap, even though you like it alot. just be prepared, and if youre not, get that cool lookin ernie ball then.

well, its just that im used to having my strap that long. yesterday, I raised it and found it to be very uncomfortable. If the strap isnt long enough, I just plain wont be able to use it. Its not about image, its about whether or not I can play.

wow, im not the only one. i get that same feeling, when my bass is too high it hurts, when its too low its hard to fret and when its in the middle its ok.

The sliding pad is a nuisance. I took mine off. I have the gecko one. I don't think it's going to be long enough for you. OK, good bye.
