i won some money ( $240) at a music store, and the only REAL thing i'm getting is a bellari tube compressor ($159)

so, i have 81 dollars left, and i was planning on getting a really nice 30' cable. so...the monster "bass" cable is like 50 bucks, and the planet waves is 30 i think. is there any difference besides planet waves "locking jack?"

do they both have lifetime warranties?

I'm your man on this one,I woundered this myself,so I bought a planet waves and took it with me to the studio and had the engineer take a reading on both and he said they were the same but both were great, they both look like they will last a long time but for the money it's planet waves for me from now on(unless monster wants me to endorse them in which case I will deleate this post and rip planet waves a new one):D

I bought a Planet Waves cable after my $50 Monster Jazz cable crapped out on me, and I love it to death. The "locking jack" thing is also nice. I don't think that they come with a lifetime warrenty, but you won't need it with a PLanet Waves. My only complaint with the cable (and most high end cables) is that when you take them to gigs and such they get tangled REAL easily. But hey, you can't have it all.

Planet Waves cables have a "designated end" for your bass and another for your amp. I believe this is so the signal doesn't have to go all the way through the cable to find it's ground. There's a heavy-duty, high-tech explanation on their website at www.planet-waves.com.

A rant (don't get any on you): I wish I could say how well they work, but my local music supermarket "special ordered" one for me about 2 weeks ago and I still haven't received it yet. I'm gonna special order a size 11 boot to put up someone's arse if I don't have it by my next gig. They've got a tag for 'em on one of their shelves, but it was "easier" for them to S.O. it than it was to reorder it. Just another story for the "Worst Music Store Experience/Most Inept Music Store Clerk" coffee table book I am going to write...
