It was an Impulse ... 600, I think, through a Mesa 610 of some kind. Of course, the Pedulla Rapture J2 probably accounted for the halfway decent tone. I turned on the Walkabout 250, but it sounded like the preamp tube had gone microphonic, so all it did was hum like a mofo.

And that is a VERY big but.

    Nope. I'll stick with Mesa.

Pedulla+Mesa 610+Walkabout with Microphonic preamp tube= You must have been at guitar center. Whatever were you doing there?

I love how the Mesa amps sound, but you should really try them on different cabs.

We're just pointing out that if you want to try out an amp that is maintained and taken care of, you should check out another store.

At the local GC its impossible for me to get my hands on any decent pieces of equipment because there are too many 14 year old (yeah Im 17, but still) Flea and Fieldy fanatics who have no idea what the dfference between noise and music is. They just slap at the bass with terrible technique producing painful sounds for about a half hour before moving away from the decent gear.

By the time they move away, I can tune the basses they were playing and set the amps to a level where the preamp isnt distorting and fix the Eqing so there are some sweet mids in the mix.

I wouldnt doubt that their treatment of gear goes beyond that to actually cause some serious damage to it.

    Peace
    Nick

C'mon, folks! I just said it didn't suck. I figured you'd all know what the "but" was about, so mentioning Eden would have been superfluous. What'd you think I would say, "Ampeg Rules"?

munji, the mere fact that you did not mention the name eden is as if to say that god himself graced you with his presence and delivered to you this wonderful device...
