Played a Musicman through an Ashdown

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Nickthebassist, Feb 8, 2005.

  1. I was playing one when I was trying the warwicks. I thought i'd better give it a go and play it through a propper amp. Well I was happily suprised. The tone was fat and punchy, and I could just baout get some finger growl from it, but it was very monotonal. There wasn't a huge variety of tones. And the body was too big for me. But better than I thought.

If you can't get a growl from a Stingray, it either needs new strings or new fingers on it . . .

  3. Hmm, I've never heard a Stingray 'growl' as such. I mean, there's a kinda punky trebbly growl, then there's deep dirty growl.

  4. I heard and tried that "Stingray growl"...delicious....Will have a stingray a day!! :)
