Well today I finally got a chance to play a Sadowsky bass for the 1st time, I also took my freshly tuned-up Atelier Z 5 Bass for comparision,
Both basses sporting the ash/maple combo, I found the Sadowsky tone more aggressive, probably due to the humbucker's p/ups, than the Z bass which is single coils, sounds more fenderish (warmer) sound to it.

Overall I dug to Sadowsky playability, fast neck, attention to detail, lightweight body, but not enough for me to sell my Atelier Z 5 for.
