...in a while last night, and it was great! Got 2 big blisters which popped themselves in the 3rd set. It was an acoustic trio (fiddle/mandolin/uke and percussion/melodica) at an art gallery opening. I was the bandleader so I told the other 2 guys up front to match my volume, there were no issues. We played some old-timey jazz, avant-garde improvs, ethnic grooves, a few originals, and a couple of Talking Heads and Lou Reed songs. It felt wonderful...there's something about playing acoustically that can't be beat. I've been away from the DB in the last few years, mostly into writing/recording electronic music. Feels great returning to my bass (New Standard Cleveland ply w/Jazzers) after the hiatus. Enough muscle memory that my intonation was good and I didn't hurt myself over 2.5 hours (other than the blisters).
