Played Tonight at My Daughter's School - What a Blast!

Discussion in 'Bass Humor & Gig Stories [BG]' started by PaulMacCnj, Dec 13, 2005.

  1. The 4th and 5th graders Winter Concert for my daughter's school was held tonight. I was asked to play bass for one song, a take on the O'Jays "Love Train". Along with about 80 chorus singers, there was a piano player, a drummer and myself. It was one of the most enjoyable and downright fun times I've had playing. The kids loved the addition of the bass and drums. My advice to all parents on this forum, if you get the opportunity to play along at a school concert, do it! You'll have a blast and, most importantly, your children will love having you there. :)

Another fun part is all the kids and parents coming up to you and saying how much they enjoyed the bass. Very cool!

I love the bass/drum groove on that song, I'm sure you nailed it. It can't stop playing it in my head now. Congratulations on a good job and serving the school and community!!
