    Hey low-enders,

It looks like my trusty amp has died and I don't think I want to spend what it might take to revive it. I do have a couple of other things to troubleshoot on it just to make sure I've done what I could after that I think I'll call it dead and play a funeral march on my bass (unamplified because..you know...the amp...).

So...I'm here to ask for recommendations for a replacement. This amp is basically a practice amp although I have used it in jam sessions with a guitarist and drummer (frankly it was a little under-powered). I would like something equivalent or if there is a really sweet combo practice amp out there that is cheap I would consider going that route instead and getting a bigger, "jam with others" option later. Also even willing to consider a plug into iPad solution if anyone thinks highly of that method. To elaborate, my current situation is just practicing by myself either with headphones or without, jamming along to tunes out of the Hal Leonard Bass Method book or to songs that I'm trying to learn). Probably will not be in a position to play with other people for a few years as I have a young child that takes up a lot of our free time.

Sorry for the ramble. I know I could just go purchase a Fender Rumble 15 or something but I'm looking to get some interesting solutions from you guys that have WAY more experience and knowledge than I do.

    Thanks in advance!

Have you checked out the V2 version?? I currently own it, and it is quite the good little amp. Has the scrambler on it etc. I would say if you dig the Ampeg sound, stick with it. Ive owned a Fender rumble combo, and while it was really good, it was quite a bit different sounding. Maybe go to the local music store and play a couple dif amps?

Jheake has a good point. Even further, you could look second hand and get more for less, for instance a second hand Ampeg B100R combo.
If it's just for home practice, maybe an Ampeg BA110 would be good for you.

Appreciate the replies. Turns out my amp is not dead, bass is. Getting bass repaired and now don't need a new amp. Is there any way to close the thread?

Did you need some recommendations on a new bass now? Because we have some of those.

Maybe instead of deleting this thread we just move it over to the basses sub forum.

I don't think there's a dead basses forum, so you may have the right idea.

This thread is definitely delivering LOL...:bassist:

What I really need is someone to give me some input as to whether playing with my fingers or pick killed my bass. I doubt anybody here would have an opinion one way or the other though...:smug:

    Hi,

I just wanted to get in before this thread died.

It reminds me of "Seinfeld". It's a thread about nothing. clap.gif excited.gif
