  1. To apply a walnut finish on an alder body, should I put some tung oil on it first or just put the finish directly on? Any help would be much appreciated.

  3. I thought so too, but noone replied... :crying:

  4. It depends on what you mean by "walnut finish". Is it a stain? A stain/tung oil blend?

  5. "Penetrates, Stains and Seals" is what it says on the can.

  6. Who makes it? What's it called?

  7. Is it a MinWax product? If so, they have a pre-stain product. Check out their web page, it has a pretty good FAQ section.

  8. It is MinWax! It is!!!

  9. Minwax has a pre-stain conditioner for both their oil based and water based stains.

Find out which one you have and check out the Minwax web site for details on how to apply it.

  10. Thank you for your time and help, Count. I'm putting you in my Oscar speech...
