    Gallien Krueger for the last 12 years!
    As some of you know, I'm trying to sell a bass, as are some you as well. There's scam artist on the prowl, so I'd like you to know what his methods look like just in case he emails you. This is a copy of the email I just got from them. Enjoy!

    My name is kelvin and i would love to purchase
    Modulus Genesis 5
    i beleive will be for $1200 if i do, right? I am a very busy man so i travel a
    lot
    presently i'm in france but however i will direct my associate owing
    me some
    money in canada to send you an international money order(money gram)
    so upon
    receipt you will then remit my balance to me in Nigeria via same
    chanel(money gram)and since i'll handle the shipping to canadian
    home, i
    will just direct him to send you money order of $4800 which after
    receipt,you will then send my balance to me in nigeria through the
    same
    chanel,(money gram).After this i will immediately direct the courier
    company
    that i use to come for pick up of my order.So if this is alright with
    you
    kindly let me have the name and address that the money order should
    be made
    out to.I would love to
    have these items ASAP.

    Semi-related.

    I got one of the 4-1-9s in my junkmail folder, and it was pretty nicely worded, very official sounding. I was impressed at the level of intellect that had gone into the writing of this letter. This one from Abijan

    So, I was having a chuckle at this very, very old scam, when at the bottom, it reads

    For One
    (name of the person, of which I can't recall)
    For God

    Isn't Christianity pretty unfashionable/very minor in Abijan? This was about the only lapse that made me go "Aww...you were SO close." Of the entire scam, this is the part that made me shake my head.
