    Well, i have been playing electric bass for about 3 years in plenty of bands with friends and in the school jazz ensemble. I just started playing upright in the school orchestra this semester, last monday. I am getting the hang of it pretty quickly and signed up for the pit orchestra for the school's version of "OKLAHOMA!" and the director, is the jazz band and wind director at our school and she doesn't know much about the string parts, i was curious if anyone knew which songs i should pluck on and which i should use a bow, or if i use one method for all of them.

    The bass parts will be marked:

    plucked = pizz. (short for pizzicato)

    bowed = arco

    You will probably be requiored to switch during several pieces in the show. If a song is not marked in the begining, assume it is arco.
