Plugzilla was just released this past NAMM and only now did I begin to realize what it could mean for bassists. In a nutshell it's a two rack space unit that stores VST and I think Waves plugins. It can store a lot of them but I think 8 are usable at the same time. Want to have a LA2A compressor in your rack? No problemo, just load in Bomb Factory. Most of the industries best effects are available as a software plugin and are way cheaper than than their hardware counterpart. If you have a synth pickup and can use your bass as a MIDI controller you also have access to any virtual instrument sound available. If memory serves me correctly this thing is around $2000. But consider what you'd pay for a real LA2A. Maybe it's just a glimpse into the future of rack rigs.
