    Bob,

If I run a balanced line from my preamp to my 2402, is it likely to help control noise induced by dimmer switches in the room?

It will if the noise is induced into the unbalanced interconnection between your preamp and power amp. If it's noise that gets into the preamp circuitry or gets in through your bass, then running a balanced interconnection won't eliminate it.

    Thanks,

I'll just give it a try and see. I pretty much doubt that it's being induced in the preamp-amp line because it's very short.
