I'm curious about these as well. How mysterious : "These pickups are made from a Thunderbird pickup drawing and are being used by the Premier Builders Guild." Maybe one of the builders for whom these pups were made will pop up one day to provide some samples. A blind guess tells me they're similar to the alnico magnet ones sold by Eyguitar parts (who also have a ceramic magnet version that has my curiosity peaked).
Hey y'all, I've got a set in my Carvin LB-50 from the 80's and they're fantastic IME! I wish I could provide a clean sound example, but I found these pickups to have a sweet and hefty low-end, punchy mids, and tame treble response (but a pick brings that out). For the price I paid, I'm very satisfied and since the Carvin is being sold off I want to put a set of these in a jazz bass sometime!
Thanks Thibby, Be cool if you could do a clean sound sample : just a scale or riff, no slap as far as I'm concerned with the neck/both and the bridge.
