  1. anyone have this album? i took a chance and ordered it from www.interpunk.com and good gravy, it's one of the best albums i've ever heard!! it's like trad. irish music with a dash o' punk thrown in, and it's beautiful and hilarious and heartbreaking. i have no idea how i missed this gem for so long! "And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda" nearly moved me to tears.

  2. P.S. it's PERFECT music to drink Guinness by!

  3. It's a good album, but the production isn't the best. I think Elvis Costello produced it himself, because he was afraid some big name producer would get to them first and ruin their raw sound. My personal preference is "If I Should Fall From Grace With God."

    I like the Pogues.

How does Shane Mc Gowan and the Popes compare to the original band?

    I will, thanks.

  9. He didn't exactly leave. He was kicked out because he couldn't stay sober enough to play or record.

Anyone going to the impending reunion shows? Shane is onboard once again.
