There are a lot of Ampeg covers about already, even for the Micro VR head and SVT210AV cab. However, there are still a couple of Ampeg heads & cabs that need to be covered, to keep all those goodies in shiny condition, so to speak. That's at least how I look at it. So anyway, dear Ampeg, please introduce covers for the following heads & amps: - the V-4B - the SVT112AV and a bag (or hard case type of thing) for the PF-50T (I presume there isn't much call for "bagging" the PF-20T) This is all in pure self-interest, I admit, but maybe others would like to have those too... With kind regards, Alex.
So I changed the thread into a poll. (to see what the opinion of other TB'ers are.) Feel free to vote!
I have both Ampeg and Tuki brand covers for my 810 and the Tuki is far superior at a similar price point. The only advantage of the Ampeg cover is that the cups on top of the cab are exposed so setting the head on it is easier. --jack
+1 for Tuki; with companies like them in business there's no reason to go petitioning any amp manufacturer to expand their lineup of covers.
So, good news everybody, Thomann now has a cover for the V-4B!! Ampeg Cover V-4B Funny thing, though, the cover doesn't seem to have an opening for the top handle of the V-4B, but I'm on to it (I sent them a message) Maybe the black is too dark on the photo. Anyway, I am very excited about this!
I'm using a Mesa combo amp cover for my V4B (see Ampeg. ... they's getting the advertising here) which is too big in height, but the right length and has the handle-hole in the correct spot and a velcro'd pocket for power and speaker leads. Still. .. I'd rather a nice 'peg one
I picked up a case from MCM electronics that fit the bill for under $80 shipped if i remember correctly, mightve been closer to $60. Just take the dimensions of the amp and find something that fits snug. I was able to get one that provides about 4" of foam on the perimeter of the amp, which is where it needs to be while carrying the head in the case, and the foam compresses a bit on the lid. Been using it for almost a year now, no issues to speak of! Even dropped the head, in the case, from about 24" and there were no issues. Unless Ampeg can come up with something better, you cant really beat the protection/price.
Doesn't the V4BH have side handles a'la the SVT tho? Yeah it does. ..just looked at pics. No top handle just the two side handles. Unlike the V4B RI
I just got a cover for my V-4B reissue from Tuki as an early Christmas present. It's very well made and fits perfectly.
Now, with a small tear in my eye of joy, finally: Ampeg Accessories Yes, that's right! You are indeed seeing (a bit to the right).... the V-4B Cover! Hurray! They're not available quite yet, but this is my next Ampeg purchase!
