I wanted to see what people see as the most useful of the bunch. Lots of choices are offered!

    I know it's a tough poll, but that's the point, in a way :D

I'm making you THINK about those "special effects" pedals you stomp on! What do you really stomp on often?

For me, it's chorus. I use wah and flange sparingly at this point, although that may change with further experimentation.
  2. Distortion/Fuzz/Overdrive or whatever varient you like.
  3. For me, it's the Octave pedal. I play a lot of Drum n' Bass kinda stuff, so I'm frequently stomping on it. And I set it DOWN an octave or two, for the rumble. :D

Curses! 30 more seconds and you'd be voting in my poll...

I deliberately omitted the core effects of most bass tones - EQ, fuzz, distortion, overdrive, boosters, compressors, etc., for the sake of learning what sorts of odd effects we use on top of our core tones.

Anyhow... vote! I look forward to what your opinions.

Oh, and if you don't use any of those... uh... um...

Voted Chorus cus it's become rather central to one of my FX boards, and really "compleats" the sound. Other than that I use distortions, and my 2nd board has a wah. :bassist:

voted flanger, because at the moment its the only weird effect i have

Im after a chorus next, followed by a wah. I bought an octave pedal and i didnt like it.
  10. i use a moby dick and a spacechorus and i never set them off

I'm allergic to pedals. I sometimes use the ultrabass feature on my Behringer head to go down an octave for the dub-bass effect, but that's it.

I've been using the MXR Phase 90 a lot recently. Second most used is a toss up between chorus and flange, auto wah bringing up the rear.
  16. i use a lot of delay and reverb, but i use them about equally...i voted delay

with no OD/Fuzz/DIST option, I pick Chorus.

Whew! What a tough call! It was hard to just pick one because I usually have two or three effects running at the same time. I ended up choosing the phase shifter because it helps me to achieve my signature sound more than anything else I have. I use it a lot when I'm slapping and it sounds great with fingerstyle funk, too. Cool poll, BTW.

i had to choose octave because compression and envelope filter weren't on the list. compression is the most important effect in my arsenal though.

I didnt think EQ counted as something crazy/other, but thats gotta be the most often used for me... Not always on, but to boost the volume and helpcut through when the guitars kick in distortion. Otherwise, I voted for the octaver I now regrat selling.
