I'm trying to see something here. I have a theory.
Rock for me. Doesn't Primus need their own category???
If I had to limit myself to one style, I'd go with the Stax soul sound...organ and brass dominant.
I think that counts as guitar rock.
I voted Guitar Rock, but I'm currently in an Indierock thing that has an equally prominent keyboard. Answering Other just woulda made me feel lonely(er).
A bit of everything.
Really?? A guitar was pretty important to John Denver's music and I wouldn't put him in the same category as Slayer or Mercyful Fate.
If metal isn't guitar rock, I don't know what is. I'd put Henry John Deutschendorf in a folk or folk/pop category, so other in this poll.
Then why not edit your options for a rock/metal category and a folk/pop one to differentiate between the two?? Guitar Rock on its own seems to be too broad of a category and I would expect that the majority of the votes will wind up there.
Imo, of course
spoiler alert: that's my theory
A mishmash of Jazz/Fusion/Guitar Rock/Prog Metal/Djent.
That most poll respondents will fall into an overly broad, oddly delineated category? What does that tell you?
That he has a very firm grasp of the obvious.
I'll play anything for $$$
More of a pre-post industrial disco guy but I respect it.
I voted other because I'm all about Alt Hindu br00tal deathcore metal punk emo screamo with some depressive suicidal black metal influences as well.
Edit: Oh, and I also like Steely Dan & Lynyrd Skynyrd as well.
I have two regular gigs, and this how it breaks down:
90% yacht rock (not my favorite- but it pays well )
10% Heavy oldies (my favorite- but it doesn't pay well)
Whatever makes your carrot go wakka-chakka-wow-wow
