Seemed like a good idea at the time. Who would have known it would be freezing in Florida. This should be fun. Never played with long sleeves before, or long pants for that matter.
  2. Oh my. From a Californian, I don't know how you Floridians put up with such intemperate weather.

Born and raised in San Bernardino/Riverside. Moved here about 8 years ago. Other than the humidity and the fact that it rains everyday from 3-6 PM... not too bad.

    So. Cal.

It's 87 degrees outside right now (2pm on Friday). This is pretty lousy January weather, dry and hot. We get enough of this during the summer. Fire season is going to be a bear this year.

    Break a leg!

    Thank you for your indulgence,

55 = freezing?? You'd probably die if you had to spend winter in Winnipeg!!

I have played a lot of gigs in the summer here in Montana when it was colder than 55. A few years back the local College football team was in the playoffs in December. We played a tailgate party with the temp in the 20s.

    Ain't playing outside though.
  12. But you still gotta haul the gear in through that icy 55 degrees.

We just hit -19 a week or so ago. I'd kill for 55.

Fifty-five is sub-freezing here in San Diego (I'm not at Groom this weekend).
  15. As a Southern Californian, I feel your pain... 55º is jacket weather! If you find frost on your lawn in the morning, it'll literally make the local headlines.

  18. 55 is a heat wave where I live. We played an outdoor gig once and the temperature was supposed to be in the 50's. However, it dropped into the low 30's by the time we played. It was hard getting the fingers to work when it was that cold. I stayed by the bonfire between sets to keep my hands warm. I never want to do that again. :rollno:
  19. Try playing with fishermans gloves on!
Pulling the mittens over my fingers in between songs to stop them freezing up..

TBH I dont think Ive ever played a gig in shorts. It rains so mch here we dont often play outdoor gigs...

Its only really safe from rain when its too cold to rain...

Florida is not the south. It's a world unto itself, just like California.
