Pop in casters for Acoustic B200?

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Wayne8, Jan 4, 2009.

  1. Can anyone who's got this amp tell me what casters to buy that'll fit the existing holes?

    Thanks.

Ernie Ball Amp casters should fit it 25 bucks at your local music store.

  3. Thanks.

  4. Thanks. But 'should fit'? Has anyone actually tried them?

These removable casters are always a hassle because the retainer ring can be in two places, high and low, and you invariably get the wrong one. The result is that they go in, but when you take the weight off the caster, it drops down about 1-1/2", which is enough to snag on something and cause a mishap when you're moving it in a hurry.

I've never been clear on why this isn't standardized. :meh:

Has anybody actually figured out which set of casters will work? Do the Ernie Ball ones work? I'm about to order a B200 and I want to order casters at the same time.

  8. I got the ones from Ernie Ball and they work great.

my Ernie ball caster fit right into my acoustic b115 cab so they should fit into your combo. 3/4 of them worked all the time, fit snug, never fell out. that 1/4 of them worked most of the time but did occasionally fall out. the EB amp casters come with their own fittings that are easy to swap with the fittings in the acoustic.

I never thought of that! I definitely think I'll replace the Acoustic fittings with the EB ones so that they're the perfect fit. I installed EB casters on an amp I recently owned and secured them in with the included screws and with Gorilla glue. I'll probably use bolts instead since I don't want to install wood screws into MDF.
