They're so rare, that title looks like gibberish. I used to be able to think of a few songs with the bassist playing the lead solo, but right now the only one that comes to mind is from the mid-'60s---Hello Hello, by Sopwith Camel:

TBers must know at least a few others.
  2. My Generation - The Who
Brown Eyed Girl - Van Morrison
Big Bottom - Spinal Tap (no guitars anywhere in the song)
    GregC and twocargar like this.
  3. im thinking maybe the middle of

forget you - Cee Lo Green
    adje and Atshen like this.
  4. I'm thinking Chains Fleetwood Mac not a big fan but I believe it to be a very prominent line and has really good bass tone.

    I Grow Organic Carrots
    Freewill Rush ....

During the solo the bass part is better than the guitar part.

And a lot of Who songs Pete Townsend plays chords and Entwistle plays lead.

"The Real Me" by the Who. You might also be able to include "Birthday" by the Beatles.

Yeah.. love the song because of that. Me and the drummer riff on it when we're goofing around during practice. I think I read that he played a bass with a stainless steel fingerboard for that song. Could be wrong, but I like the thought.

Love shack has a bass/drums only section that's fun.. the Bang Bang Bang part.

Yes is hardly pop, but the song "Does it really happen" off the album Drama has an awesome solo in it.

Most anything Level 42. Maybe no solo, but probably a monster bass line through the whole song.

    Speaking of bass solos.

Husband and wife completely at odds and won't speak to each other, so they go to a counselor
Marriage counselor pulls out a bass and starts jamming like crazy.
Next thing you know, the husband and wife are communicating again.
Couple: "Doctor how'd you know that would work?"

Counselor: "Everyone talks during a bass solo."

  11. Fifteen by Taylor Swift has one in the beginning (a lot of her songs have pretty good bass for that matter)

I play "Our Song" in a cover band and it is a very challenging song to execute correctly.

A Little Help From My Friends. The only interesting part of the song is the bass line.

    Rio - Duran Duran

The whole song sounds like a bass solo to me. Funny thing is, when he's actually soloing (about three minutes in) it is the simplest bass part of the song. He starts cooking again when the sax joins in.
