Well, I'm taking the plunge, migrating from upright to bass guitar in church (I'll keep the upright for my community orchestra). I'm learning scales (gee, I get to use all 4 fingers on the bass guitar!). What are good pop tunes to listen to and learn bass lines from as a beginner, just to learn styles, construction etc.? Probably pop tunes and oldies would be the best. Any recommendations?

    Thanks! :D

I believe "I can't help myself" was by the 4-Tops. Thanks!
