I am in the process of having Chris Stambaugh build me a SC 5 string bass. Aero Pickups wired for series and parrallel. I am hoping to get a Mike Pope 3 or 4 band pre-amp, but have yet to hear back from Mike Pope (I know he is very busy after checking out his website). In the event that I cannot get the pope pre-amp, does anyone have any suggestions. Chris Stambaugh had mentioned possibly using U-Retro or Demeter instead. Any experience with any of the above would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    FWIW:

never had either of them but on TB the retro's have been discussed frequently and the demeter's occassionaly - seldom. So I'd do a TB search and you should be able to make some decision from that. There's probably some reviews on the retro on harmonycentral, activebass, and another that escapes me, but would turn up in a net google search.
