    anyone have any tabs or know were I could get porn groove/slap stuff, or know any scales that might be helpful in constucting my own. thank you

    I think he means stripper groove.

    Unless you are talking about that other stuff that was in the Dirty Harry movies but is now in the "classy" porn movies.

    ok porn groove is hhhhmmm....... its a little hard to put I would have though more of you would know what I was saying. if you have ever heard of lake trout their new music has some porn groove, some of phish stuff you coul consider porn groovish, like heavy things and gotta jiboo. I guess mainly of what I am looking for are those cheeze slap bass lines they play in porns and stuff.

    There was a cool shoutcast radio station that used to play stuff from porn movies of the 70s. But it seems to have disappeared.

    You probally find a midi file for the CHiPs theme. Then down load a program to show you the notes.
    That has some pretty cheesy slap bass in it.

    When you think about it, porn and tabs have a lot in common:

    • You don't want to get caught looking at it
    • Sure, you can go and get the job done the hard way, but sometimes you just want the convenience.
    • Cheap and free on the internet!
    • You feel dirty afterwords... not that I would know... I've never used either of them...

    This is also an example of the "list" function. I should use this more often. :D

    Haven't seen tabs/notation for porn groove as a genre. I guess because it's like emo - one of those "genres" that is either so narrowly or so loosely defined that it loses meaning. Having grown up with Motown and 70's music, the style, such as it is, comes pretty easily to me, especially because of the Motown.

    Our band plays Beck's "Nicotine and Gravy" which has a pure porn groove bass figure.

    So, all I know to do is lift them. If you haven't already, check out Pete Tong's album "Beats and Grooves for a Porn Star" or this thing I haven't really heard -

    Go buy Mr. Bungle's first album, simply called "Mr. Bungle". Listen to and figure out the song "The Girls Of Porn". It's relatively easy to play/figure out, and it's brilliant.

    I dunno if you reckon, but I reckon softporn has the funniest music. They have all those cheesy saxophones and crap.
