I've been looking for a nice portable tube combo amp to run my Akai Unibass through.
I've seen that some folks are using some big ol' 100W combos, but I was wondering if anyone out there is using anything a little smaller?

I'm using a 1965 AMpeg B15n-- it's about 75 lbs. and puts out 35 watts. I'm also using a Pignose B100V I just got from tombowlus in a trade deal. It's a 100 watt, 15" combo and it only weighs 65 lbs. While it's not a Portaflex, it is still full of rich tubey goodness. I'm using it in an R&B group and it sounds awesome.

The Pignose seems like a really good idea. Saw one on ebay not that long ago.

If you're willing to look into guitar amps too, the field opens up a ton.

I'm gonna have to keep my eyes open for a Pignose.

I'm glad you are digging the Pignose, Brian! I was going to suggest that combo, but you beat me to it. :)
