Just kidding. They are from there, though. They have a live album "Live In NYC" that's worth checking out, as they're backed by a full string section. Hie thee to Amazon.

If you like them, check out near-clone Alison Goldfrapp. More freaky Theremin/Ondes Martenot-infused low-fi experimentation featuring a mentally-unstable-sounding female vocalist.

    I second both these recommendations.

Btw, does Goldfrapp have any other albums out than 'Felt Mountain'?

Roads is probably their best track ever, closely followed by It's a Fire.

BTW: Anyone know if Portishead is still around as a group? A friend said something about them being on a semi-permanent hiatus...
  6. Portishead is awesome. I have a few of thier CDs. Live in NYC is fantastic, and this coming from someone who hates live cds. Buy any of their stuff if you can, they are one of my favorite groups to just chill out to.

  8. If you like Portishead, then check out the track "Midnight In A Perfect World" by DJ Shadow. Its definitely got a great, trip-hop vibe to it.
  9. I LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
