Possible trouble down the road

    In terms of cutting through the mix if I were to get an avatar 4x10 cab, what head would cut thorugh the best with the cab. I'm going to need a non-super expensive head in about a couple of months or so, which would compliment the avatar the best? and I will be in a loud environment, with a very very very loud drummer(granted he is ver very very good). Anyone?

    1001RB, used to save money. Or the new ones. Or just get a hartke 3500 or 4000 head.

    But I am in search of good tone too. Anything that will sound something like Ampeg or Mesa. Crap, I may have half answered my question.

    if you wanna cut through, ampegs sound a bit too bottom heavy. They thump, rather than cut. Mesas are better for that. GK's are the best for cutting through, IMHO. Hartkes are warm, but cut through well, too.

    Yup. Just buy a used Mesa or Ampeg, don't pay those exhorbitant retail prices. Used gear is a great bargain!

    How would a Mesa M-Pulse 600 complement the avatar 4x10? I want one, but it probably will costs me a bundle...

    I agree with my pal tmo...I mean GK is pretty good,so I've heard...and it has lots of headroom,so i've heard.

    Also,the hartke 3500 is a good deal ,so i've heard...so is the 4000,so I've heard;)

    I'd much rather have a Mesa, but money would be tight. Any one wanna help comtribute?

    Cut is a subjective term fer sure. Ampeg has the best R&R tone I've heard.
