I'm trying to get an idea of how many different ways there are to do a singlecut body style.

I'm looking for some examples of the Fodera/Elrick/Benevente humpback type bodyshapes, not so much the LP/ASAT ones.

Anybody want to post some pics?
    I'd sure appreciate it.

It'll help me decide if I really want to commit to this type of design or not.

    It's for a 34" 28 fret 8 string (doubled)

I just saw that Dominique di Piazza plays a ClassX - at least he checked one out @ Musikmesse 2002.

Check out that Glockenklang backline - drooool :D

I have to say the shape of the ClassX confounded me at first, but now that I see it being played in the seated position, all the curves seem to make ergonomic sense.

Thanks for the pix! I hadn't seen the Marleaux singlecut before, or given the Human base much of a second-thought.

I like the LeFay style too, though it's not posted yet. It sort of bridges the gap between single- and double-cut.

The bass is originally intended to be played like a classical guitar (neck at a 45° angle etc.), hence the shaping.

I considered showing the Le Fay, but its a borderline case:

  9. this one is still just a 'concept' at the moment...

its "single-cutaway" is at the TOP, though.

well, I was going to try to wait till the 1 year anniversary of this thread, but now I just can't!

Since I started it, I may as well show the bass it resulted in:

anybody else getting a weird sign-in dialog from Vamsys - Statuswebinterface/humanbass every time this thread pops up???
