Lets see your Smiths everyone !
Here's my Ken Smith BSR6 GN, made in 2000. I took it to a club gig a couple of weeks ago with the rig pictured and it made me very happy...as usual. This is my favorite bass for slap.
me and my bsr6mw (back when i had more hair!)
Here's mine. Of the 8 or so SMith's I've owned and of the many I've played this is absolutley the finest I've ever heard.
Here's the back.
i've seen that warwick somewhere....
Here's my first and only Smith...as of today
Peter and JR, those are two of the most stunnign basses I've ever seen.
Absolutely beautiful Smith's guys!!! I've never gotten over how terrific the Smiths I tried in N.Y. were. Definately the next indulgence on my list.
What are the woods used in those JR, Peter?
Thanks for the interest and compliments. Mine is the Bsr Elite with a walnut core and coco bola top. It has a huge ballsy tone with great growl. Ken makes fantastic basses.
Here's a photo of the the same bass after an application of Ken Smith's wax. [Supplied with each KS bass] Woods are Walnut on Maple. The tone has a punchy low-midrange bark. Notes are very clear, yet "funked". Also, I can dial in many other tones.
Boogie's and Peter's neck-through Smiths are the stuff!!!
Soon...it's just a matter of time...Real Soon
That back of that bass is so pretty I think I'd play both sides of it!
Thanks, man. The thing sounds pretty sweet, too. Uh, the front side, that is!
Here is mine, only a 4 string BSR J I'm afraid.
It has a Walnut front and back over ash wings with a maple core.
Only? It's a Smith...sweet. My next bass is going to be a 4-string Ken Smith.
I've got 3. A BT5G, BSR5GN and BSR5J. I'm going to borrow the digital camera from work and post some pics this week.
I just sold the Lakland Bob Glaub! Only took 7 hours. I wonder what Boogiebass' KS-6 would be like with two less strings?
[AP voice on] Yeah, baby, yeah! [AP voice off]
Here's my BSR5GN, Walnut top and back and Maple core.
