Please post a picture of your rig and, if you like, describe how it sounds with your particular combination of head and GS112 cabs.

    Here's mine:

It's loud and has a sweet open sound with piano - like highs. This is way more than I need at this point. The head is over 50 pounds so I'm thinking of downsizing a bit.

What kind of power amp is that?

    I've always thought 112''s were cute :D

Nice rig, philthygeezer. Is that a Godin BG-IV I see in the background? I have my eye on a used one (standard model w/o flamed top, with EMGs) and I'm curious what others think of the bass.

They don't make 4 ohm GS112's, do they? That would be killer with my Bam combo.

It's clean and clear, with a very flexible EQ. Build quality is near to or on par with Music Man.

are those ASB soapbars in your godin? i just put my bass in the shop to get one installed. it is a replacement for an MK1. so you say clean and clear eh? i wonder if it will sound and/or work with an MK1 preamp..?

Nope, factory Seymour Duncan Basslines pickups. I find them clear like active EMGs, but warmer with less clank, gliss and glass.

I don't have any pix, but...

Ampeg SVP pro or Alembic F1-X or Aguilar DB659>
    SWR 750 power amp>
    2 GS112s

I've come to the conclusion that I like the SVP Pro and the F1-X better than the Aguilar so I guess I'm gonna sell it. Can't see keeping it when I don't use it.

    3 cabs?!?!
Man I'll bet that rocks! I've got some gigs coming up this week. I'll see if I can talk my crappy digital camera into working.
For right now a description will have to do.
    I'm using.
    Ampeg SVPCL (PRE AMP)
    Yamaha P2500S (POWER AMP)
    1 GS112
    1 GS112nt

As for a description of the sound, it is somewhat boomy with low end up close, but as I walk about 10-15 feet away it cleans up real nice. Plenty loud, but I wish I had more power than the 275 watts I'm feeding each cab. Maybe a third cab would help.

I've been thinking about adding an Aguilar S210 cab and running it off to the side of the stage, but maybe I'll just add another GS112NT and have a 3 tall stack like philthygeezer's

r379....hmmm I guess I should change my user title. One of many I've been rotating.

philthygeezer you have nice taste in bass finishes. The cabs look great, unfortunatly I have yet to try them.
  13. Heres mine. An EA iamp 500 running two aggies. I am so happy with this setup at the moment. Very articulate. The iAmp really helps me get the most out of these cabs.

Are those 8 ohm cabs? or are you running stereo?
  16. Yep, 2 X 8 ohm cabs giving a 4 ohm load. I think you can only get the GS112's in 8 ohm.

Pretty loud with that Walkabout? How do the mids poke through?

The Aggie cabs might be a little mid-shy, but I'm playing a MM Bongo through that Walkabout head, so I've got mids to spare! :)

Just ordered my 3rd aggie 112 cab. Figure I can stack it 3 high like yours or just 2 high with one off to the side. I love these cabs! :hyper:
