This is not the most extravagant finish by a long shot - but it really caught my eye, and I've gotten a lot of compliments on it. Ironically it was a mis-tint. It is a MTD Kingston series Artist model that was sent from the overseas factory for approval. While the bass was 100% fit & function, it was supposed to be blue and the batch was rejected. They hung out in the warehouse for some time and then were "rediscovered" and discounted as B-stock. A win for me, and pretty unique as well. ( it is actually more of a teal color than green, but difficult to capture the true color in a pic)

  8. Hey thanks for the nice words.
Actually it's a project that anyone could put together themselves quite reasonably.
All up this bass cost me about $700 including the parts and labor.

Mighty Mite was licensed to make aftermarket, Fender spec'd necks and bodies. This was one of their many "off the shelf" offerings. However, around the same time FMIC started selling their own replacement necks and bodies, Mighty Mite bodies started becoming rarer and rarer. I wouldn't be surprised to find out Fender either pulled the license or refused to renew it for that exact reason. 'Tis a shame, too, 'cuz that Transparent Blue Burst, along with their Transparent Black finishes, is quite a sight to behold.

Love the color, looks great. Those strings look incredibly high. Is that just an allusion due to the angle of the photo?
  17. Thanks! They were high but the pic somehow exaggerated it. These are promo pics I let my dealer take before I picked it up and set it up to my liking. They're quite low now.
