I get most cover bands are money-makers, but any of you do something more self-indulgent? I played guitar and did lead vocals in a post-punk cover band some years back and we had the most obscure set list that was a blast to perform. Here was the set list: - Mission of Burma - Academy Fight Song - Fugazi - Blueprint - The Cure - Fire In Cairo - The Jam - In the City - Mission of Burma - That's When I Reached for My Revolver - Stereophonics - Doorman - The Clash - I Fought the Law - Fugazi - Provisional - The Neighborhoods - No Place Like Home - The Stranglers - (it's so obscure I can't recall the name) - The Pixies - This Monkey's Gone to Heaven
If you can get paying gigs... I'm in a jazz band playing a lot of hard bop, and other good jazz. Not many decent gigs, so mostly we just play for ourselves. Fantastic musicians (and yet they allow me to hang around with them).
We cover some Fugazi too. Jack White - Lazaretto and QOTSA - in my head always were well received too.
Peaches? It's in my list. Here we go, clearly I'm yearning for brass and strings! Food for Thought - UB40 My Girl - Madness Ghost Town - The Specials Jammin' - Bob Marley Peaches - The Stranglers The Bottle - Gill Scott-Heron Geno - Dexy's Midnight Runners Green Onions - Booker T & the MGs Stomp - Brothers Johnson I Get a Kick Out of You - Frank Sinatra
Anesthesia Pulling Teeth - Metallica The Fish - Yes YYZ - Rush My Generation - The Who Tommy the Cat - Primus NIB - Black Sabbath Mountain Jam - Allman Brothers Love Trilogy - Red Hot Chili Peppers Barney Miller / Night Court / Seinfeld Theme medley
Is this a set list you've actually gigged? How do you fit aenestesia in? I love the idea of a tv medley.
