Post your pointy basses (or just pointy basses that you like)
Did you ever finish redo'ing that bass?
in a couple weeks! I just got all the stuff together, now I just need a free weekend
When you stripped off all that mirror'd shizzle, what kind of wood did you find underneath? Also, I'm curious.... those were bolt on, weren't they? And, I find myself wondering if a warmoth fender spec neck would fit.
The mad scientist in me, has a thought... find an old beater in a pawn shop, strip it down, get a killer drop top from Larry over at Gallery, & go from there.
Everyone says Conklins are pointy so...
Bah, Conklin's arent pointy... Great looking, yea... But, not pointy, IMHO. My dream bass,,, pointy-wise, would be an Alembic Exploiter... But, I've never played one, & only seen one in the hands of the Ox himself.
Hey Mark,nice stuff!
One question:what are the stands in the pic?
I have a hard time finding such a stand wich can take the width of my Yamaha TRB JP neck....all the local stores sell stuff for acoustic guitars but that's not wide enough! (...and no jokes about "thinning the neck with a file in that region",please! )
I'd order one,but where to look at?
Actually they're normal stands. I just stretched out the tines by hand to fit my basses..
OK,thanks for the reply!
It's not exactly pointy, but I think it's in the style Hammer was talking about.
Well, it isn't a great pic but it definately is pointy!

1) Do not operate THE STING without safety goggles.
2) Never run while wearing THE STING. Always walk.
3) Do not make sudden movements while wearing THE STING.
4) Never point THE STING at another person. Injury may result.
5) No horseplay while wearing THE STING. THE STING is a dangerous weapon - it is NOT A TOY.
Some very cool basses over here....
