I've been hooked on redwood burl tops.

So, as is the tradition on TalkBass, I will now ask all of you to go track down pictures of redwood tops that we might bask in their glory without me doing any of my own looking. :ninja:

I know I wouldn't play it much anymore because it's a four-string, but I'd really like to own that bass again. It would be the third time :D

  4. Here's my redwood topped Nordy VJ5. It was a gift from my band leader. I told him that I'm now a lifer in his band.

i don't mean to hijack the thread but does red cedar count? My own semi acoustic, piezo PU red cedar bass. even the neck is red cedar. smells nice and plays beautifully

Hey, why not. Nice looking instrument regardless.

Here is one of my redwoods. It's an R bass singlecut with an East preamp. A really versatile bass, however most of the time I take it out to play I just wind up staring at it :D. Redwood rules!!

Here is my Alembic Series I at a gig last year early (2017). It has burl redwood front and back, also front and back of the headstock.
